Ron joined Lightspeed in 2006 and focuses on the firm's investment efforts in China across multiple sectors, including Internet, wireless, communications, semiconductors and consumer services. With over nine years of venture capital experience and three years of operating experience.
Previously, Ron was a Managing Director of KLM Capital, a cross-border venture firm with offices in Silicon Valley and Hong Kong, where he primarily focused on investments in the semiconductor and communications sectors. Ron served on the boards or worked closely with the management teams of MetroWave Communications (acquired by IPG Photonics [IPGP]), ShareWave (acquired by Cirrus Logic [CRUS]), Opulan Technologies and Global Communications Semiconductor. Previously, Ron worked at Intel as a marketing executive in the Mobile and Handheld Products Group and contributed to the successful launch of the mobile Pentium III processor. He also served as an operations manager focusing on ramping up leading-edge semiconductor manufacturing processes.
Ron received both his BS and MS degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT.
